Lucky for us, a mama bird made her nest right outside of our back door. The kids were so excited to check on the three little eggs each day, and then watch the babies grow. Unfortunately for the birds, they were disturbed over and over again, and were very possibly scared out of their nest a little earlier than they would have liked. I had to work hard at keeping Ruby away from the little hopping birds while they were trying to figure out how to fly-- it was really beautiful to watch the mama bird keep an eye on them at their various hiding spots around the yard.(and it just so happens that Jack has been singing this song a lot lately.....)
